Augmented Portraits

This portrait series challenges and confronts expectations placed on the human form. The portraits include multiple features and other unexpected attributes. They are comprised of shapes and patterns usually in bright colors accentuated by black outline. While each face is representational, the overall effect of this style is draw the eye into individual and colorful abstract components that result in the structure of composition.  This coupled with odd or unexpected facial features slows the process of the art's consumption to a joyful exploration.
