"Conglomular" / 8" x 8" / acrylic on canvas / 2016
My latest painting “Conglomular” is a unique portrait half-buried in a dense, detail-rich composition. The panel is alive with waves, segments, and sections of abstract geometric imagery in bold, bright colors. Thick magenta drips were manipulated to flow upwards from the bottom of the panel, both to add interest and to create a new foreground-- which further merges the facial features with the background. This piece is a tribute to human individuality and represents how both the individual and the surroundings are equally complex and become a part of one another.
